Dr. Saunder concluded "that the

high blood pressure is not as good for
Blacks as for other citizens."
He called for national program that
would include taking blood pres ure
re dings by all health care professionals,
among them dentists nur s pharmaci s,

In Baltimore, an inten ive screening
and monitoring program was set up
initially at 10 Blac churche and the
number has grown to 75, Saunders said.
He cautioned ainst mere screening
"and urged that community group couple
that service ith education and followup
of hyperten ive individuals.
