The BOSPS pllns to subcorrtrKt I Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)
giving youth 14 through 21 years of Work Experience in the public sector;
The progrlm sh II be designed to meet the div se individual needs per 20 CFR
680.200 (a) (b) of t r utatlcns.
All ices to Ippliants r uirem nts shall be th responsibility of the BOSPS
(outr en and intake); howey • outreach may be shared with the sutXontractor.
T 0 (2) subcontracts t pprox. $18,000.00 each will be .warded; one will cover
� County. Ind the oth r, Van Buren County.
Th basic program design wll be:
(a) provide rvices to economically d sadvantaged youth;
(b) d lop outr ch Ind recruitm nt techniques aim at all segments of
disadvant youth. especially school dropouts, youth not lik Iy to return
to school w' hoot assistance from th SYEP, and youth who remai in
school, but are Ilk y to be confronted with significant employment bar­
ri s;
(c) provide labor market orientation;
(d) make appropriate efforts to award cademic credit to participants.
Th BOSPS Region IV Consortium reserves the right to accept or reject any. or all,
propoyls submitted. The BOSPS is under no legal requirements to execute a con­
tract on the basis of this advertisement. All programs ar subject to fed al funding
and r ulations bY'the Department of Labor.
REP'S WILL 0 LV BE PROVIDED AT THE SCHEDULED MEETING
'Those interested in attending the meeting must notify the BOSPS
in writing. on/or before February I, 1983, and must have the appro­
priate staff person(s) responsible in attendance for the actual prepara­
tion of the proposal(s). The letter shall be in the attention of the
program planner.
