By participating in the Michigan Conference on Small Business, you can help in,.....:a­
opportunities for small businesses in Michigan.
It's the small business person, who deals daily with demands such as taxation, regWa .
and the need for capital, who is most qualified to tell government what it can do to
encourage a healthy and expanding small busine sector. The Michigan Conference 0
Small Business provides that chance.
The Michigan Conference on Small Business will be hosted by Governor illiam G.
Milliken in May of 1981. The conference will explore the problems faced by Mic .
small business men and women, and recommend changes in state laws, policies, and
lations to address them. The conference demonstrates a recognition of the important
role small busine will play in revitalizing Michigan's economy, and providing jobs fo
Michigan's citizens.
To prepare for the conference, twelve forums will be held ace the state. At th �nnlrl'ft.

and propose ways state government can address them. Participants Will also elect de1eQiltes
to develop the issues more fully at regional caucuses, and to pre nt, at the state confi -
enoe in May, a small business action aqenda for the 1980's.
Every owner, op ator, and manager of a business in Michigan with fewer than 500
employees is eliqible and encouraged to participate. '
Locally, there will be a caucus for minority business people to prepare for the regio
caucuses. The public is urged to attend:
