It's the small business person, who deals daily with demands such as taxation, regulation, and the need for capital, who is most qualified to tell go emment what it can do to en co urag a healthy and expanding small business sector. The Michigan Conference on Small Business provides that chance. . The Michigan Conference · on Small Business will be hosted by Governor illiam G. Milliken in May of 1981. The conference will explore the problems faced by Michigan's small busine men and women, and recommend changes in state laws, policies, and regu­ lations to address them. The conference demonstrates a recognition of the important role small business will play in revitalizing Michigan's economy, and providing jobs fo M' chigan's citizens. To prepare for the conference, twelve forums will be held aero the state. At the forums small business owners, operators, and managers will identify the issues of high concern, and propo ways state government can addre them. Participants will also elect delegates to develop the issues more fully at regional caucuses, and to pre nt, at the state confer­ ence in May, a small busine action agenda for the 1980's. Every owner, operato , and manager of a business in Michigan ith fewer than 500 employees is eligible and encouraged to participate. Locally, there will be a caucus fo minority business people to prepare for the regional caucuses.
