Ho c n your ard- with prices steadily on the

nomics nd fash ion ha a
rY sha y relationship
these days as a result of
inflation. The cloth e
buy have become 0 ertly
more expensive.
The averag working
may still expect to pay

into that reflection of af
fluence or ho dresses ith
poi d point, the man

ble can expect to pay
any thin from $300 up
rds.
I try to stay a ay from
quoting prices in this co
lumn because the .tru sub
ject matter is fashion and
not the cost of clothing.
Ho e r, one of the side
affects of inflation is that
it equalizes everything to
the ultim te end - the
cash transaction.
It's inflation nd other
doom-sayings that hav
been undermining our nse

vious to us that living in
these trying times has alot
to do with getting by

PLANO ACTIO
We will take it for granted
that you have some e
spectable pieces in your
wardrobe. We will build
on that premise.
Shirts are the first
on the genda. Shirts in
white '11 build a basic
b. c ground for the fas
hion dram to be played.
There are several shades
to choose from. Sea island
cotten white to handker
chief linen hite is the
range.
There is a variety of
COIiMS - th wing and the
ne small rounded collars.
Depending on the fab
ric,. e basic hite shirt
is your best money value.
The key is to exhaust every
outlet and II the sale
prices before buying.
Ties for the season are
gro ing slimmer. The point
is non xistant. So small are
they that you can use them
as belts with your jeans.
For the man who is
concerned about fash ion,
the leather tie is in this sea
son. One will do the job
in black, tan or gray.
Slacks vary in cost, but
if you stay ithin a $20
price range you'll b safe.
With proper cleaning and
care you'll be doing some
successfu inflation fighting.
Jeans are becomi ng
more and more a part of our
wardrobe. I got it from an
expert friend of mine, that
black will be the color to
count on this season in
trousers.
Shoes ill be a matter
of personal choice ith so
many styles and various
materials to choose from.
The cost wilt" spiral when .
you get into the designer
leathers. If you recycle
as much of your shoe
rdrobe as possible this
'11 insure solving the in
flationary footwear war.
SPO TS COA T, JACKET
Unfortunately they wiU
be expensive this coming
season. The designers have
changed the silhouette to
focus basically on the upper
body.
ith the squaring of
the shoulder and the un
constructed look, this is
accomplished.
When adding pieces to
the wardrobe, look for a
cut that tapers towards the
waist for the V-shaped
image so important in Men's
fasions this season.
If You're part of the
r, as we go through our
second great energy crunch;
if it's real this time - re
member the bogus crisis of
'73? You will have to take
all necessary precautions to
urvive an inflationary-caus
ed nosedive and your ward
robe should not hav to suf
fer because of th battle of
the dollar and cents versus
looking good.
