T

he gift of reading is something Carol
Blumenstein, her daughter, Alana, and son,
Reuben, hope to share with readers of all
ages through a special book they published called
KidsRead2Kids Presents… Amazing Tales. The book
is a “survival guide” for neurodivergent children,
teens and their parents to help bring joy and con-
fidence to struggling learners. Carol’s son Reuben
created the book’s illustrations, making this a true
family effort.
“My dyslexic and attention-deficit/hyperactiv-
ity disorder (ADHD) kids and I wrote this book
to help teach independent thinking and learning,
”
Blumenstein says. “Inspired by our own struggles, it’s
filled
with
our

favorite tips
and tricks for
school success.
Kids will learn the fundamentals of writing a story
and reading comprehension.
”
The book is an interactive workbook filled with
more than 200 pages in full color to make it exciting
and accessible to all learners. It’s designed to be used
more than once as readers grow. Through in-depth
interviews with industry experts, kids learn and prac-
tice the art of character design from the head artist of
Sesame Street, story development from the executive
editor of American Girl, and research from the exec-
utive editor of CNET. In addition, the book teaches
reading comprehension, active listening, poet-
ry and vocabulary.
“We offer STEM projects and cooking
ideas to help make math and science fun,
”
Blumenstein says. “We introduce cre-
ative careers, so kids become motivat-
ed to go to school, and we highlight
other incredible kids worldwide
who have overcome adversity. It’s
written with dyslexia-friendly
font and interactive lessons
and videos (utilizing QR

codes) to help kids process multi-step tasks.
”
KidsRead2Kids is a Parents’ Choice award-win-
ning nonprofit organization dedicated to helping
nurture curiosity and positive self-esteem. Founded
in 2016 by Blumenstein’s dyslexic and ADHD chil-
dren, KidsRead2Kids provides original literary and
educational resources to learners of all ages.
“Our resources are used by children, parents,
teachers and librarians in over 60 countries,
”
Blumenstein says. “KidsRead2Kids believes in learn-
ing at your own pace and creates an interactive, fam-
ily-friendly environment for developing active and
healthy minds.
”
The nonprofit provides free online resources,
including video audiobooks of classic novels read
by high school students and filmed chapter by
chapter for easy listening. Each book comes with
corresponding free lesson plans. KidsRead2Kids
Presents… Amazing Tales is the organization’s first
published book, and it has already won several
awards. KidsRead2Kids… Amazing Tales is available
on Amazon and sells for $26.95. It can also be found
on Kindle for $9.99.
