B’nai B’rith International has
advocated for global Jewry and
championed the cause of human
rights since 1843. B’nai B’rith’s
Great Lakes Region covers
Michigan, Fort Wayne, Ind., and
Toledo, Ohio. Most of the current
activity is centered in the Metro
Detroit area, home to active units
and lodges, sports leagues, as
well as programs and projects
conceived in the regional office.
Our history in Michigan goes back
to the formation of the Pisgah
Lodge in 1857. Pisgah was B’nai
B’rith’s 34th lodge in the United
States.

Friendship Circle provides
assistance and support to the
families of individuals with special
needs by providing recreational,
social and educational
programming that aims to support
community inclusion. The work
of Friendship Circle also extends
into the lives of people struggling
with addiction, isolation and other
family-related crises through the
Daniel B. Sobel Friendship House
— a Jewish recovery community
that offers friendship, support
and a variety of programs that
facilitate lasting success.

JARC is a nonprofit, nonsectarian
organization founded in 1969 by a
group of parents concerned about
the future of their children with
developmental disabilities. Today,
JARC is known as a prototype for
innovative, high-quality residential
and support programs for people
with developmental disabilities.
JARC serves more than 150
people in 45 different settings in
Oakland County including group
homes, independent living and
in-home respite care.

The heart of a stronger
community, we provide older
adult services such as case
management; door-through-door
transportation; Kosher Meals on
Wheels and Holocaust survivor
assistance; mental health and
wellness services such as
counseling, suicide prevention
trainings and youth/ school-based
services; safety net services such
as basic needs assistance, public
benefits enrollment and health
care navigation. We also provide
outreach to the Orthodox and
Russian-speaking communities.

The J works to strengthen
the Detroit Jewish community
