SUSAN CHERNIAK, 
80, of Commerce 
Township, died Dec. 
13, 2024. 
She is survived by 
her beloved husband, 
Edward Cherniak; daughters and 
sons-in-law, Lisa and Jay Fisher, 
Ami and Jeremy Friedman; 
grandchildren, Benjamin Fisher, 
Jessica Fisher and Daniel Fisher; 
brother and sister-in-law, David 
and Judie Gold; many other loving 
family members and friends. 
Susan was the sister of the late 
Oscar Gold. 
Interment took place at Beth 
El Memorial Park Cemetery in 
Livonia. Contributions may be 
made to the Jewish Hospice and 
Chaplaincy Network or a charity 
of one’s choice. Arrangements by 
Dorfman Chapel.

LOUIS CHERNOFF, 
95, of Bloomfield 
Township, died Dec. 
15, 2024. 
He is survived by 
his wife of 74 years, 
Betty Chernoff; daughters and 
son-in-law, Cathy Slavik and 
her partner, David Goldburg, 
and Joan Chernoff Epstein and 
Robert Epstein; grandchildren, 
Brooke and David Jung, Bree 
and Ben Hefner, Meredith and 
Oren Tepper, Jonathan and Abby 
Epstein, and Brandon Epstein; 
great-grandchildren, Scarlett, 
Violet, Chloe, Ricky, Lev, Stella, 
Emma, Penelope and Arthur; 
many other loving relatives, 
friends and caregivers. 
Mr. Chernoff was the dear 
father-in-law of the late Richard 
Slavik.; son of the late Benjamin 
and the late Sarah Chernoff.
Interment was at Adat Shalom 
Memorial Park. Contributions 
may be made to Adat Shalom 
Synagogue or a charity of one’s 
choice. Arrangements by Ira 
Kaufman Chapel.

PATRICIA 
FRIEDMAN, 93, of 
Farmington Hills, 
passed away peacefully 
on Dec. 13, 2024.
Born in Liverpool, 
England, she moved to the United 
States as a young woman after 
World War II and later attended 
nursing school. 
She took great pleasure in 
gardening, creating beautiful 
English-style flower gardens 
around her home that brought joy 
to family and friends. Patricia also 
had a deep love for reading and 
was rarely without a book. It was 
often said that she had read nearly 
every book at the Farmington 
Public Library. 
Patricia cherished her family, 
her home and her gardens. She 
will be greatly missed by all who 
knew her.
Patricia was the beloved wife 
of Morton Friedman, with 
whom she shared 64 years of 
marriage. Together, they raised 
three children, Jeffrey Friedman, 
Michael (Shannon) Friedman, and 
Lori (William) Sneed. She was the 
proud grandmother of Marissa 
(Garrett) Jeffrey, Brooke (Robert) 
Murphy, and Cassidy Sneed; she 
had the joy of meeting her first 
great-grandchild, RJ Murphy. 
Patricia is also survived by many 
other loving family members and 
friends. 
Interment was held at 
Clover Hill Park Cemetery in 
Birmingham. Contributions may 
be made to a charity of one’s 
choice. Arrangements by Dorfman 
Chapel.
