H

arold “Hersh” Rothenberg has been
in the fashion retail industry long
enough to see trends come and
go — in both style and in ways of doing
business.
And as one of the few brick-and-mortar
boutiques still standing in the area, Hersh’s
Boutique, a family-run luxury women’s
clothing store, is thriving. It was chosen
the best by Jewish News readers.
Why? Starting from the most basic level,
Rothenberg knows what he’s doing. He
knows fashion; he knows fit and fabric, he
knows how people like to be treated when
they walk through the door and he knows

how to keep them coming back. He has
customers of all ages and all sizes. Whether
they live in West Bloomfield, where Hersh’s
is based, or anywhere else in the country,
Rothenberg is always just a phone — or
Facetime — call away.
“Our customer base has changed over
the years,” Rothenberg says, “and so has
the shopping experience. It’s very hard for
people today to go shopping at a depart-
ment store at the mall and find what they
want. Even online is different. We have
a website that we are in the process of
rebooting, and we are on social media,” he
says.
