SHABBAT FOR TOTS
10 AM-NOON, DEC. 14 (SAT.)
Families with young children are 
invited to the Shabbat playgroup 
at Temple Israel. Celebrate 
Shabbat and Chanukah with 
crafts, activities, musical prayer, 
playtime and a “kid”-ush snack. 
Geared toward families with 
children 5 and under.

KIDS’ NIGHT OUT

Kids will enjoy hanging out 
with their friends, eating dinner, 
doing Havdalah and having fun 
at Adat Shalom Synagogue in 
Farmington Hills. Kids in grades 
K-5 will do many cool states-of-
matter experiments led by the 
Michigan Science Center. Sixth-
graders and older are welcome 
to volunteer to help during the 
event. Dinner: plain noodles 
(marinara sauce on the side), mac 
and cheese, carrots/grapes and

a loving husband and father, 
faces upheaval as he prepares for 
a gallery show. His life is turned 
upside down by the unexpected 
return of his father (John Earl 
Jelks), whose past actions Tarrell 
cannot forgive. The film depicts 
family crisis and the role of Black 
voices in the contemporary art 
scene. It tackles difficult questions 
and avoids easy answers. The 
film premiered at the 2024 
Sundance Film Festival. (117
