F

an of Taylor Swift? Fan of
Chanukah and all its fixins?
Fan of expressing your Jewish
pride, having pure-and-simple fun and
dancing the afternoon away with other
ladies of all ages, community-wide?
Then this party is Taylor-made for you.
Grab your besties, the young
and young-at-heart, and celebrate
Chanukah at The Eretz Tour: A
Chanukah Dance Party for Girls
& Ladies of All Eras, presented
by Congregation Shaarey Zedek’s
Sisterhood 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec.
15, at Shaarey Zedek in Southfield.
“
A lot of women have been coming
to us, saying we should have a dance
party,
” says Elyse Jacobs, co-vice pres-
ident of programming with Yvette
Rivas Diamond at Shaarey Zedek’s
Sisterhood. “
And I’m a Swiftie; I admit
it. I think Taylor Swift is brilliant and a
great role model for girls.
“So, we started thinking: Swift,
dance party, Chanukah. What if we
mashed it all up — it’s a little bit of
fundraising, it’s programming, it’s a
Chanukah party and it’s Taylor Swift.
But, mostly, it’s multi-generations of
girls, from all the ‘eras,
’ dancing togeth-
er, creating a community-wide connec-
tion and having so much fun.
“It’s like Taylor’s Eras Tour but with a

Jewish twist,
” she says.
The Eretz Tour will feature a live DJ
(so guests can “Shake It Off”), a Latke
Bar and Mac ’n’ Cheese Mash-Up,
Shake It Off Dessert & Sprinkles, plus a
photo booth with giveaways. A Tay Spa
will offer optional party-bling merch
for purchase — including custom-de-
signed “Eretz Tour 5785” T-shirts
emblazoned with Jewish-themed
friendship charms, like an 18 (chai)
inside a heart, a hamsa and crown dan-
gling from a glittery gold chain — plus
Eras Tour-inspired friendship bracelet
kits and pre-made bracelets, sparkly
hair tinsel, body stickers and more.
“It’s a very cute, commemora-
tive event, where bubbies can come
together with their daughters who are
now mommies and their little
bubbeles, and their BFFs, a unique
celebration of being Jewish, of friend-
ships and the special love we forge as
women, our history, our future,
” Jacobs
says. “
As Taylor is ending her Eras
Tour, our Eretz Tour is still moving
forward, after thousands of years —
we’re taking it into the future.
“It’s been a hard year,
” she says.
“Sometimes we just need to pause and
show up. We want to move forward
with joy, together and dance. This is
our ‘We Will Dance Again.
’”

Celebrate the holiday with all
the girls in your life at Shaarey
Zedek Sisterhood’s Eretz Tour
Chanukah Dance Party.
