hake, shake, shake your lulav! 
There was a festive atmosphere 
on Jewish Senior Life’s West 
Bloomfield and Oak Park campuses 
in October as residents gathered 
in sukkahs to celebrate Sukkot and 
Simchat Torah. 
Residents helped construct and 
decorate sukkahs at the Meer, 
Hechtman, Teitel and Prentis 
Independent Living Apartments, 
Coville Assisted Living Residence 
and Fleischman Residence/Blumberg 
Plaza Assisted Living. They shook 
their lulavs and etrogs, enjoyed music, 
conversation and refreshments, and 
participated in religious services. 
Children and teens from The Shul also 
visited Hechtman Apartments to dance 
and sing songs with the residents.
