Drew Lyngaas will be 
called to the Torah as a 
bar mitzvah on Friday, 
Nov. 29, 2024, at 
Temple Beth El in 
Bloomfield Township. 
He will be joined in celebration by 
his proud parents, Sarah and Brian 
Lyngaas, and brother Maxx. He is 
the grandson of Andrea and 
Richard Ketchel, and Mary-Ellen 
and Karl Lyngaas. 
Drew is a seventh-grader at 
Birmingham Covington School. 

Emily Marissa Rodnick, 
daughter of Amy and 
Dr. Adam Rodnick, will 
lead the congregation 
in prayer as a bat mitz-
vah at Temple Israel in 
West Bloomfield on Saturday, Nov. 
30, 2024. She will be joined in cel-
ebration by her sister Jillian. Emily 
is the loving grandchild of Toni 
and Corey Rodnick, and Judy and 
David Zimmerman. 
She is a student at South Hills 

Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. 
Emily’s most meaningful mitzvah 
project was volunteering at the 8th 
Count Dance Studio’s “A Chance to 
Dance” program; an initiative aimed 
at creating an inclusive dance envi-
ronment for children and adults with 
special needs.

Joshua Weinstock 
(Eliazar Yehoshua) of 
Huntington Woods 
became a bar mitzvah 
at Adat Shalom 
Synagogue in 
Farmington Hills on Saturday, Nov. 
23, 2024. He is the son of Michael 
Weinstock and Carly Weinstock 
and brother of Marlee Weinstock. 
Proud grandparents are Gail and 
Steve Elkus, Kathy and Stuart 
Weinstock, Gayle Infeld, and Kathy 
and Mark Leipsitz.
Joshua attends Norup 
International School in Oak Park. 
For his mitzvah project, Joshua 
plans to do fundraising to send 
kids to Tamarack Camp.

Rivka is the daughter of Adina 
and David Barth of Oak Park; 
Jonathan is the son of Art and 
Peggy Cottrell of Teaneck, N.J. 
Rivka and Jonathan are residing 
in Silver Spring, Md.
