Washington, and imports from

The business also partners with
grower champagne houses, which
are champagnes produced by the
same estate that owns the vineyards
where the grapes are grown — a
rarity in the field.

MAINTAINING EXCELLENCE
Like the boutique wineries they
partner with, The Wine Poor
Distribution aims to stand out with
its small, family-run feel, white-glove
service and strong business ethics.
Wines are temperature-controlled
from the minute they’re ordered
until they’re delivered.
“We deliver the wines in pristine
condition,” Nathan Kunzman says.
“Not everybody does that.”
It’s a commitment to excellence
the Kunzmans say was ingrained
from a young age.
“We have always enjoyed wine in
our family and would often explore
boutique wineries in our travels,” Jon

Kunzman, 40, of West Bloomfield,
says. “It was a natural evolution to
want to share our great wine finds
with our friends and family, and
now, thousands of diners across
Michigan.”
As it looks to the years ahead, The
Wine Poor Distribution continues
to expand its footprint in Michigan’s
wine landscape. Eventually, the
brothers say they’d consider
expanding into neighboring states,
but for now, the focus remains solely
on Michigan, their home state.

However, as the years go by, the
goal remains the same with no plans
to change.
“We have cultivated a refined
palate through years of tasting
the world’s finest wines,” Nathan
Kunzman says. “Our mission is
simple: to bring exceptional wines to
those who appreciate them, whether
in a cozy wine shop or a high-end
restaurant.”
