called to the Torah as 
a bar mitzvah at 
Temple Beth El in 
Bloomfield Township on 
Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024. Wyatt is 
the brother of Parker and Mina, 
grandson of Martin and Marilyn 
Levin, and Sid and Ingrid 
Grossberg. 
He is an eighth-grader at 
Detroit Country Day in Beverly 
Hills. 

Zachary Finn 
Millman (Efrayim 
Yitzchak) of West 
Bloomfield became a 
bar mitzvah at Adat 
Shalom Synagogue 
in West Bloomfield on Saturday, 
Nov. 2, 2024. He is the son of 
Michelle Millman and Andrew 
Millman, and brother of Joshua 
and Noah Millman. Proud 
grandparents are Dr. Irvin and 
Eda Gastman, and Lawrence 
and Barbara Millman.
Zachary is a student at Hillel 
Day School of Metropolitan 
Detroit in Farmington Hills. 
His mitzvah project involved 
volunteering at the West 
Bloomfield-based Friendship 
Circle, doing one-on-one 
organized sports and assisting in 
skill building and fostering new 
friendships with participants.

Sadie Bess Rosen, 
daughter of Lisa 
Zeskind and Mitchell 
Rosen, will be called 
to the Torah as a bat 
mitzvah at Temple 
Israel in West Bloomfield on 
Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024. She will 
be joined in celebration by her 
brother Aaron. Sadie is the 
loving grandchild of Sandy and 
Jay Zeskind, and Sheri and Jay 
Abramson. 
She is a student at Hillel Day 

School of Metropolitan Detroit 
in Farmington Hills. Observing 
the effects of memory loss in 
her loved ones, Sadie chose as 
her most meaningful mitzvah 
project raising money for the 
Alzheimer’s Association.

Preston Lance Rubin, 
son of Barb and Cory 
Rubin, will be called 
to the Torah as a bar 
mitzvah at Temple 
Israel in West 
Bloomfield on Friday, Nov. 8, 
2024. He will be joined in 
celebration by his sisters, Nicole 
and Danielle, and his brothers, 
Ryan and Ashton. Preston is the 
loving grandchild of Judi Tann, 
the late Gary Stern, and Bonnie 
and Michael Rubin. 
He is a student at South 
Hills Middle School in 
Bloomfield Hills. Preston’s most 
meaningful mitzvah project 
was volunteering at a special 
needs camp over the past 
few summers, where he got 
to spend time with his brother 
Ashton.

Piper Seneca Smith, 
daughter of Karen 
Benjamin and Jordan 
Smith, will lead the 
congregation in 
prayer as a bat 
mitzvah at Temple Israel in West 
Bloomfield on Saturday, Nov. 9, 
2024. She will be joined in 
celebration by her brothers, 
Carter, Graham and Reid. Piper 
is the loving grandchild of the 
late Barbara and the late 
Norman Benjamin, the late Gaye 
Smith, and Gail and Martin 
Smith. 
She is a student at South 
Hills Middle School in 
Bloomfield Hills. Piper’s most 
meaningful mitzvah project 
was volunteering with West 
Bloomfield-based Friendship 
Circle’s Summer Camp.
