singles player the next two years and a team
captain,” Larry Stark said. “He’s a leader.”
Witt is typical of many Frankel boys tennis
players.
He didn’t start playing tennis competitively
until he got to Frankel as a freshman (he
attended Hillel Day School from grades 1-8
and played basketball there) and now has
developed a love for tennis and the team.
“That’s the great thing about our team,”
Witt said. “Most of us weren’t tennis players
before we came to Frankel. Now we love the
sport and we’re motivated to work hard so we
do can well and help the team.”
Larry Stark said there are several reasons
why the Frankel boys tennis team has done so
well through the years. He gave credit to the
players.
“They’re dedicated, determined, have a will
to win and work hard,” he said.
Monica Stark tossed out a few other
reasons.
“Larry is a no-cut coach,” he said.
“Everybody makes the team, feels like a part
of it, and learns a life sport. And we have a
family atmosphere.”
