Pauline’s elegance, gracious hos-
pitality, commitment to community,
and unending devotion to friends
and family is an enduring inspira-
tion to all.
Pauline survived her husbands,
Leopold J. Snyder and Martin J.
Kabcenell. She is survived by her
children, Jeffrey (Rochelle), Janis,
and Wendy Snyder; her Kabcenell
stepchildren, Derry (Charlene),
Andrea (the late John Kuder), and
James (Rhonda); Kabcenell grand-
children and great-grandchildren;
seven nieces and four nephews.

SHIRLEY KLAR, 96, of
West Bloomfield, died
Oct. 19, 2024.
She is survived by
her son and daughter-
in-law, Mark and Nori
Klar; daughter-in-law, Kim Klar;
son-in-law, David Friedenreich;
grandchildren, Aric (Jenna) Klar,
Jonathan (Natalie) Klar, Michael
(Rachel) Klar, Adam Klar, Max
Klar, Ross Klar and Rachel
Friedenreich (fiancé, Tom); great-
grandchildren, Ezra, Ryder, Charly,
Rocco and Lennon; many loving
nieces, nephews, other family
members and friends.
Shirley was the beloved wife of
the late Edward Klar; mother of the
late Dennis Klar and the late Gale
Friedenreich; sister of the late Bea
Katz, the late Edith Metler and the
late Ann Davis.
Interment was held at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery
in Livonia. Contributions may be
made to the Jewish Hospice and
Chaplaincy Network or to a charity
of one’s choice. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.
LAURA GUTTENTAG
LIPSON, 91, of Novi,
died Oct. 22, 2024.
Laura led a remarkable
life full of joy.
She is survived by
her husband of nearly 70 years, Dr.
Channing T. Lipson; her children,
Deborah and Steven Feldman of
Framingham, Mass.; Beth and
Matthew Hafter of Wilmette, Ill.;
Dr. Peter and Julie Lipson of West
Bloomfield. She was adored by her
grandchildren, Andrew Feldman
and Isabel Larrazábal Ramírez of
Massachusetts; Sharon Feldman
and Taylor Johndrew of California;
Mark Hafter and Piper Bold of
Ohio; Claire Hafter of Chicago, Ill.;
and Allison and Samantha Lipson
of West Bloomfield. She recently
experienced the joy of meeting
her first great-grandchild, Talia
Hafter. She is also survived by her
brother and sister-in-law, Joseph
and Merna Guttentag of Maine, and
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her brother, David Guttentag;
and her parents, Samuel and Sara
Guttentag.
