OBITUARIES
OF BLESSED MEMORY
NORMAN I.
BROCK, 94, died
suddenly Oct. 17,
2024.
He was born in
Cleveland to Sol and
Leona Brock. An only child,
Norman grew up in Detroit and
lived much of his adult life there.
He was a graduate of the
University of Michigan and
its law school. He spent his
entire professional career as a
trust officer — the first who
was Jewish — at the National
Bank of Detroit, where he was
much valued as a sage adviser to
younger bankers.
After settling his affairs in
Detroit, Norman realized his
lifelong dream: He retired to
Manhattan’s East Side and
became a New Yorker. Norman
was a discerning collector of
graphic art, an expert balcony
gardener and an opera lover. He
was a wise and generous friend
and a genial host, who possessed
the secret to the perfect gin-and-
tonic.
Norman has left his friends
with many fond and happy
memories. Burial will be private.
Memorial tributes may be made
to Teatro Nuovo.
KENNETH DROZ,
67, of Southfield, died
Oct. 20, 2024.
He is survived by
his brothers, Gary
Droz and Alan Droz.
He was the devoted son of
the late Julius Droz and the late
Dorothy Droz Mills.
Interment was at Clover Hill
Park Cemetery. Contributions
may be made to a charity of one’s
choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.
