DOG OF THE WEEK

E

veryone loves a short guy with a good smile. Bones makes
everyone smile. This English bulldog and French bulldog mix
is the perfect combination of happy and healthy, but it wasn’t
always that way.
Bones actually came to Detroit Dog Rescue with severe deformities
in his airway. Thanks to our friends at Oakland Veterinary Referral
Services, we were able to provide Bones with lifesaving surgery.
Bones is the best “Detroit Good Dog!” He loves short walks,
Muenster cheese, a piece of bagel with the right amount of schmear
— and if a matzah ball happens to drop on the floor during the
holidays — he isn’t about to pass that up!
Come meet Bones at our Grand River location in Detroit. Start by
filling out an adoption application at DetroitDogRescue.com.

Detroit Dog Rescue “DDR” is Detroit’s first no-kill shelter. The
organization was founded in 2011 and is licensed by the Michigan
Department of Agriculture. The co-founder and executive director
Kristina Millman-Rinaldi is a member of Temple Shir Shalom and
always welcomes students working toward their mitzvah projects to
do community service. Kristina Millman-Rinaldi was voted Detroit’s
Hometown Hero in 2024. To adopt, foster, donate or volunteer, go to
DetroitDogRescue.com.
