s book borrowers at the Huntington Woods 
Library find texts about centering lives and 
bringing each into balance, they can have 
supplemental subject access through Oct. 26. During 
the marked time period, library visitors can view a 
fiber art exhibit that delves into relevant issues. 
“Center,” the title of the display with close to 40 
pieces, is the project of Rachel Brunhild. She holds 
a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, covering apparel and 
textile design, from Michigan State University and a 
master’s degree in fibers from the Savannah College of 
Art and Design in Georgia. 
Brunhild teaches weaving and sewing at the 
Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and is the studio 
manager for the Painting Department at Cranbrook. 
Although she has made clothing and teaches those 
skills, her focus is on artistic expression. 
“All of my work tends to be about meditation 
and mindfulness and using art as sort of a cathartic 
therapy experience to express what’s going on in my
