Farber Hebrew Day School
is welcoming a new Sefer
Torah, and the entire extended Jewish
community is invited to join the
celebration at a Hachnasat Sefer Torah
on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Howard and Michal Korman of
Southfield generously underwrote
the cost of the Torah in honor of
Michal’s parents. “My father, the late
Amiel Galazan, was a Torah scholar
throughout his lifetime. He lived by
the rules and inspiration of the Torah

on a daily basis. He taught adults
and children throughout the Metro
Detroit area and would have loved to
see a Sefer Torah written in his merit.
My mother, Rachel, lives at Meer
Independent Apartments. She and my
father were both great role models of
how to lead a Jewish life full of love,
traditions, spirituality and strong
Zionism,
” said Michal of the fitting
tribute. Michal and Howard’s four sons
— Jacob, Jonathan, Andrew and Joseph
— all attended Farber.
