Repair the World
Announces National Days
of Jewish Service

Repair the World, an organization
which mobilizes Jews and their com-
munities to take action to pursue a just
world, igniting a lifelong commitment
to service, announced the National Days
of Jewish Service (NDJS), which are tak-
ing place Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, 2024.
“NDJS, powered by Repair the World,
is back for a second year and at a crucial
moment,” said Melissa Levine, Senior
Director of Field Activation for Repair
the World. “As we commemorate the
anniversary of Oct. 7th amid the Days
of Awe and approach a key election sea-
son, serving as a Jewish community has
never been more important.”
Repair the World offered microgrants
of up to $1,000 for Jewish organizations
to host meaningful service programs as
part of the initiative. So far, 40 partner
organizations including JCCs, federa-
tions, synagogues, AEPi chapters and
national partners of Repair like Moishe
House have received microgrants to run
programs. Repair anticipates more than
9,000 participants engaging in programs
over the month of Jewish service.
“Whether you’re incorporating service
into your planning for a commemo-
rative event, or leading a community
service project, or even organizing a poll
worker registration drive, your partici-
pation can make a real difference,” con-
tinued Levine.
• Repair the World has shared pro-
gram ideas and Jewish service part-
nerships to encourage participants’
involvement, including:
• Mobilizing an organization’s staff to
recruit poll workers for your local
precinct
• Host a OneTable nourished Shabbat
dinner and engage in Jewish ser-
vice-learning conversation using the
tag #service
• Join a local Reverse Tashlich team
to bring service into a High Holiday
ritual
• Additionally, individuals can run
service ambassador programming
for 10 or more people and receive a
volunteer stipend.
