110 | SEPTEMBER 26 • 2024 J N C ollette Salon Rosner, 93, of West Bloomfield, died Sept. 17, 2024. A beautiful person inside and out, Collette Salon Rosner led a full and most productive life. She was truly loved by all who knew her. She married the love of her life, Bernard Rosner, whom she met at Wayne State University as they crossed paths from the Music School and Law Quad. Fortunate to have nurtured lifelong friends from Detroit school days, together they led busy social and cultural lives. Collette was a Phi Beta Kappa recipient and member of Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity. As a solo pianist, she performed with colleagues from the Birmingham Musicale. The high- light of her performing years was playing with her daughters Cindi and Kim as the Rosner Trio. Collette was the longest employee in the history of Temple Beth El. She was hired by the temple’s music director, her professor at WSU, Jason Tickton. She was not only the pianist for the religious school, but also the music teacher of the Temple Beth El Nursery Program. As a private piano instructor for more than 65 years, Collette was loved by all her hundreds of stu- dents, young and old. There was never an outing to dinner, concert, play or grocery store where Collette was not recognized and stopped by a former student and/or family member, who would express their love and appreciation of their rela- tionship with her. She was indeed a pillar of the Metropolitan Detroit community. Collette was a perfectionist and took pride in her appearance, always coordinating everything down to her bracelets and earrings. She loved her home and so enjoyed entertaining family, friends and colleagues with homemade pastries in an elegant manner. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Rosner. Collette loved her children, Cindi Rosner, Kelly Roberts (Michael Roberts) and Kim Rosner Saxe (Dr. Stephen Saxe). She openly loved and welcomed her sons-in-law, Pat Kelly, Stephen Saxe and Michael Roberts. Her delight and joy was her only grandchild, Colton Rosner Kelly, and his part- ner, Marino Mossa. Collette is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and stu- dents. She was the loving sister of the late Renee (the late Edward) Stone; the devoted daughter of the late Ben and the late Karlene Salon; the dear sister-in-law of the late Violet Erlich and the late Joel (the late Sarah) Rosner. Collette loved and appreciated all the friends and personnel from All Seasons West Bloomfield, Hospice of Michigan, Jewish Hospice & Chaplaincy Network and daily caregivers from Sharing Hearts. Her kindness and love will be missed but remembered and cher- ished by all. Interment was at Beth El Memorial Park.
