 Inspired by the sweet shape

of young pomegranates (just
what you’d expect from a com-
pany called Pomegranate, whose
designs are influenced by the art
of Indian hand block printing), the

Pom Bells Fern &
Poppy Table Runner
and Tea Towels from the
same collection feature
plump pomegranates in
coral and salmon and
tree branches with vibrant
green leaves. Accent
with Pomegranate’s
Green Starburst
Woven Placemats.

Israeli artist, storyteller and “guardian of

Jewish tradition” Yaeli Vogel, founder of
Yaeli Fine Art, created Yaeli Home, based in
Cedarhurst, New York, to bring her stunning,
fluid and spiritual artwork to functional fruition in
the form of tabletop, textiles and heirloom Judaica,
with a mission to inspire others through Judaism.
Here, she sets a table with pieces from her Red Rimon
Collection (rimon is Hebrew for pomegranate, symbolic of wis-
dom and knowledge): reusable (use dry erase markers) pomegran-
ate-shaped Rimon Placecards (set of 4), ceramic Honey Dish for
Rosh Hashanah with Spoon and Rich Harvest Place Mats (set of 4).
Also on the table (or a brilliant gift idea) are Vogel’s Rosh Hashanah
Simanim Cards (set of 4, in Hebrew and English): The Rosh
Hashanah seder takes participants through the Rosh Hashanah meal
with a series of symbolic food — the simanim (translating to “signs”
or “indicators”) — including honey, apples, pomegranates, fish, spin-
ach, dates and more, signifying a good year to come. Yaelivogel.com.

Inspired by Marimekko of Finland and Ken

Donne in her native Australia, Barbara
Shaw made aliyah to Israel in 1986;
her company, Barbara Shaw Gifts,
offers original, bold Israel- and
Jewish-themed designs (her own,
like this Rosh Hashanah Apples
& Bees Glass Serving Plate
and Challah Cover, as well as
guest artisans, many Israeli) in her
all-women, ethical workshop on tex-
tiles, ceramics, serveware, wood, glass,
stationery, T-shirts and more — including a
Yiddish collection — which can be found at her two shops
in Jerusalem plus Jewish museum gift shops around the
world, her website and Etsy. Barbarashawgifts.com.
