DOG OF THE WEEK

owdy, y’all. Welcome to 
the rodeo. 
I’m Tex from the 
South. Thanks to Almost Home 
and my lovely foster family for 
the rescue from the blistering 
heat down there where I was a 
stray. Since I arrived in Michigan, 
I have adjusted very well
I am an 8-year-old, 15-pound 
Schnauzer mix, altered male. 
My foster mom says I am so 
handsome, and I clean up really 
well! I kind of think so, too. 
Here is what else my foster 
mom says about me:
• He looks like a Muppet! 
He’s so cute and gets a ton of 
attention everywhere he goes.
• He’s such a sweet guy and 
current on shots. 
• He has started his 
heartworm treatment and needs 
to go for short walks and be 

calm. Almost Home will continue 
paying for his medical care until 
he is free of heartworm.
• He’s a lover boy and can’t 
wait to meet a family of his own. 
• He absolutely loves belly 
rubs! 
• He is housebroken.
• He sleeps all night in his dog 
bed in the master bedroom.
• He loves to nap during the 
day.
• He was the perfect 
gentleman in meeting the 
neighborhood dogs.
My foster mom says I’m a 
fabulous dog and will make a 
family of any size happy, but 
they have to help me through 
the nasty heartworm I have 
(Almost Home will be paying the 
vet bills). I rest most of the day, 
I do love a car ride — but have 
to keep my excitement level real 
low — for now.
