SALLY DEAL, 87, of West
Bloomfield, died Sept. 9, 2024.
She is survived by her children,
Daniel Deal, Alan and Kevin
Deal, Philip Deal, Raphael Deal,
Chaya Leah (aka Ilene) Tinman,
Shana Deal and Kevin Bittman;
grandchildren, Ari Deal, Joshua
and Allison Deal, Alizza and
Ronnie Shulman, Alanna and
Daniel Weitzner, Rachel and
Yosi Borsand, Hershy Tinman,
Hailey Ariella Bittman, Isabella
Rebecca Bittman; many great-
grandchildren; sister and brother-
in-law, Ruth and Jerry Suhler;
twin brother, Abe Finkelstein.
Sally was the beloved wife of the
late Samuel Deal; dear sister and
sister-in-law of the late Aaron and
the late Adele Finkelstein.

HOWARD FISCHER,
M.D., died July 30,
2024. We will miss his
intellect, humor and
humanity.
Born in Brooklyn,
N.Y., in 1947, he attended medical
school in Belgium. He was
married to Barbara (1951-2003)
for 26 years. He married Marcelle
Frison and retired with her to
Uppsala, Sweden.
A pediatrician at Children’s
Hospital of Michigan for more
than 30 years, he loved teaching,
directed the outpatient clinic and
was dedicated to treating and
preventing child abuse.
He leaves behind his daughter,
Suzanne (Amanda) of Detroit;

wife, Marcelle; stepchildren and
stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be
held at Congregation T’chiyah in
Ferndale, Sept. 20, 2024, at 2 p.m.

ADRIENNE
GOLDBAUM, 91, of
Hollywood, Fla., died
Sept. 9, 2024.
She was extremely
interested in plants
and animals, had a greenhouse
at her home that she spent many
hours toiling in, was a member of
several garden clubs and a docent
at the Detroit Zoo.
She is survived by her brother,
Robert Tarnow; sister-in-law,
Kathy (Martin) Tarnow; children,
Keith Goldbaum (Linda Hartz
Rosen), Rhonda Katz (Laurence
Katz), Roger Goldbaum (Ella
Goughler); grandchildren,
Dana (Katz) Diachenko (Dan
Diachenko), Stacey Katz, Jessica
Katz, Candice Goldbaum (Sam
Merchant), Chase Goldbaum
(Corey Klein Goldbaum), Nathan
Goldbaum, Erik Goldbaum
and Anastasia Goldbaum;
great-grandchildren, Makayla
Diachenko, Makenzie Diachenko,
Lennox Merchant, Lincoln
Merchant, Charlie Goldbaum and
Carter Goldbaum; caregiver, Sam
Guzman.
She was preceded in passing by
her husband of 50 years, Isadore
“Izzy” Goldbaum; her brother, the
Hon. Arthur J. Tarnow; her sister-
in-law, Jacqueline (Beaubien)
Tarnow; her daughter in-law,
Natalie (Goldberg) Goldbaum.
Interment was held at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery
in Livonia. Contributions may be
made to a charity of one’s choice.
