undreds gathered in Orley Hall at Congregation 
Shaarey Zedek to hear remarks from Mort Klein, pres-
ident of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), 
on the subject of Israel, U.S. and antisemitism. Klein was intro-
duced by ZOA Michigan leaders including Kobi Erez, Allen 
Amber and Sheldon Freilich. 
 Hazzan David Propis, a past ZOA-Michigan honoree, led 
those gathered in “Hatikvah” and the “Star-Spangled Banner,” 
assisted by young Israeli volunteers in Michigan for the sum-
mer.
