Pyle-Wener A lexandra and Joseph Wener are thrilled to announce the engagement of their daugh- ter Gillian Wener to Dr. Benjamin Pyle, son of Judith Wiener and John Pyle of Oak Park, Calif. Gillian is an environmental law- yer with Lathrop GPM in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned her bachelor’s degree in environment from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School. Ben is an associate professor of law at Boston University School of Law, teaching criminal and employment law. He earned a bache- lor’s degree magna cum laude from Claremont McKenna College in philosophy, politics, economics and mathematics. He has a J.D. from the University of Michigan as well as a master’s degree and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan. The couple resides in the Boston area. A May 2025 wedding is planned with Rabbi Aaron Bergman of Adat Shalom officiating. MAZEL TOV! Gabe is named in loving memory of his paternal grandfathers, Conrad Pearl and Harold Dean; paternal grandmother Barbara Pearl; maternal grandmother Myra Geneva; and maternal grandfather Glen Bruno. Sydney Charlotte Dolgin, daughter of Talia and Ari Dolgin, will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024. She will be joined in celebration by her brother, Miles. Sydney is the loving grandchild of Susan and Rabbi Harold Loss, Ellie Dolgin and the late Stuart Dolgin. She is a student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. Sydney’s most meaningful mitzvah project was creating and selling a variety of camp-themed items, such as note cards and jewelry, with her cousins to raise money for Send a Kid to Tamarack and the Detroit Jewish Federation Israeli Camper Scholarship Fund. Sarah Fearon, daughter of Nanci and Paul Fearon, will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024. She is the sister of Joey, and granddaughter of Suzanne and Allan Lasser, and Will and Margaret Fearon. Sarah is a student at Derby Middle School in Birmingham. Her main mitzvah project involved supporting animals. Cailey Eliana Levine, daughter of Shayna and Josh Levine, will lead the congregation in prayer as a bat mitzvah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024. She will be joined in celebration by her sisters Mia and Marni, and her brother Brandon. Cailey is the loving grandchild of Susan and Rabbi Harold Loss, and Berna and Noah Levine. She is the adoring great-grandchild of Cecelia Levine. She attends Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. For her mitzvah project, Cailey, along with her sister and cousin, developed a Camp Shuk, creating custom camp gifts and donating all funds to Send a Kid to Tamarack and Jewish Federation’s Israeli Camper Program.
