MARLENE BASS, 89, 
of Lake Worth, Fla., 
formerly of Detroit, 
died Aug. 1, 2024. 
Mrs. Bass is 
survived by her 
daughters and sons-in-law, 
Susan and Dean Jansen, and 
Lisa Feldman and John Lynch; 
son and daughter-in-law, 
Marty and Donna Feldman; 
grandchildren, Ashley Gruda, 
Tenaya Tuteur, Jordan Feldman 
and Lyndsey Belk; stepchildren, 
Susan and Larry Oleinick, Jeff 
Bass, and Mark and Marcy 
Bass; stepgrandchildren, Aaron 
and Anjali Oleinick, Jacob and 
Danielle Bass, David Oleinick, 
and Max Bass; stepgreat-
grandchildren, Layla Bass, Sara 
Bass, Avi Oleinick, Jai Oleinick 
and Bella Bass. 
She was the beloved wife of the 
late Dr. Stuart Bass.
Interment was at Adat Shalom 
Memorial Park. Contributions

MICHAEL 
FENCHEL, 79, of 
Novi, died Aug. 4, 
2024. 
He was devoted to 
his family, his career, 
volunteering and the Detroit 
Tigers. After a successful career 
as an educational administrator, 
he spent more than 20 years 
traveling the globe. He led a full 
and convivial life. 
Michael is survived by his 
wife of 53 years, Kathleen; son, 
Kenneth (Lisa); granddaughters, 
Laine and Avery; sister, Judith 
(Laurence) Rothenberg and 
family.
