BURTON H. GORELICK,
81, of Commerce
Township, was born to
Lillian and Oscar of
Detroit. He died July 31,
2024.
Burt was a charismatic man
with a true zest for life. His
entrepreneurial spirit led him on
many adventures as he sought to
provide the best for his family.
He embarked on many of these
endeavors with his dear brother
and best friend, Stuart, further
solidifying their unbreakable bond.
Burt enjoyed dining at iconic
establishments, savoring meals at
Lafayette Coney Island, Miller’s
Bar and Sinbad’s with his late wife,
Bobbi, and later exploring new
local restaurants, joining a Dining
Club with his partner of 10 years,
Trudy Rubinoff.
As a doting zaydie, Burt never
missed a talent show, honors night
or graduation, showing up to cheer
on and support his grandchil-
dren. A classic car enthusiast, Burt
shared his passion with his son and
grandson, creating lasting mem-
ories at car shows and auctions.
Burt also enjoyed poker nights with
friends, traveling and collecting
fine timepieces.
Despite facing numerous health
challenges, Burt remained positive and
upbeat, comforted and encouraged by
the love of his family and friends. A
truly giving man, Burt chose to donate
his body to science, aiding in the edu-
cation of future medical providers in
his final act of kindness.
Burt’s memory will be cherished
by his many friends and family,
and his spirit and legacy will live
on in the hearts of those who knew
and loved him. He will be fondly
remembered whenever a Chevy
Impala passes by, in the ticking of
a beautiful watch and in the enjoy-
ment of a coney dog or sweet treat.
Burt was a devoted brother
to Stuart and the late Lynnda;
the beloved husband of the late
Roberta; a proud father of Damon
(Theresa) and Dayna Begien; a
loving zaydie to Nick, Tabitha and
Lauren Begien; a cherished uncle
to Tracei Akarlilar, David (Linden),
and Scott (Adrianna); a great-uncle
to their children.
JENNIFER FAY
SCHNEIDER, daughter
of Holocaust survivors,
the late Sal and Jenete
Dobrowski, passed away
at the age of 74 in Los
Angeles, Calif., on Aug.
4, 2024. She was surrounded by the
love of her family and friends who
adored her.
Jenny was a neonatal intensive care
nurse at Cedars Sinai in the 1970s,
then moved to Michigan to start a
family and raise her beloved sons,
Scott and Brandon. Jenny moved
back to L.A. in 2012 to take care of
her mother, living in the same condo
where her parents had lived since the
1980s, corner unit #307.
She is survived by her devoted
sons, Scott and Brandon; cherished
daughters-in-law, Meggan and
Rachel; her grandchildren, Sophie,
Jack and Romy, who were the
lights of her life; and her dear sib-
lings, Alvin (Gail) Dobrowski and
