R
obert Aronson served in executive
positions with the Jewish Federation
of Detroit for many years before
moving into a desert area located in the
western part of the United States.
While he returns to Michigan quarterly,
helping to manage part-time financial work
for public and private clients and visiting
with longtime friends, this summer has him
at the center of a cultural event.
Aronson will be introducing his new
locale to people in Michigan by means of an
exhibit of his artwork, “Catching the Joshua
Tree Dream,” and a presentation of a new
book, Glimpses of the Joshua Tree Dream,
which is about the area and its creative
people as planned by his wife, Lisa Schyck-
Aronson.
The introductory event, running Aug.
8-11 at the friend-owned Galerie Camille
in Detroit and attended fully by the couple,
also assists the couple’s philanthropic
interests by displaying and supporting the
work of artists at the Friendship Circle Soul
Center in West Bloomfield and allotting
funds for the international Keep A Breast
Foundation.
“The paintings reflect the change in
Former Detroiter Robert
Aronson to showcase art
in “Catching the Joshua
Tree Dream” exhibit.
