Sylvia was the loving
mother of the late Karen
Waldman; dear sister and
sister-in-law of the late Saul
and the late Miriam Rose, the
late Ricki Nederlander and the
late Joe Rose.

A funeral service was held at
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

Hill Park in Birmingham.

LOIS
KRITCHMAN
WINSEN, 98,
former Detroiter,
passed away April
17, 2024, of
natural causes.
A graduate of the University
of Michigan and Wayne State
University, Lois enjoyed a
lengthy, successful career
in Detroit and Southfield
in advertising and public
relations, including her own
agency, Imagination, and then
a partnership, Wolk Winsen.
She was an active member
of the Detroit Press Club for
many years and an officer of
the local Mensa organization.

She was also a longtime
member of the African Art
Committee at the Detroit
Institute of Arts; one of her
acquisitions was included in
their 1977 African art exhibit
“Detroit Collects African Art.

After moving to San Diego,
Calif., in 1981, she launched
several new business ventures.
She was the author of two
screenplays and an award-
winning writer/producer of
the video Less Stress in 5 Easy
Steps. She spent six years as a
purveyor of animation cels,
had a 15-year stint as a real
estate broker and finished
with a 10-year labor of love as
a freelance book editor. She
was also a board member and
co-president of a local chapter
of the American Association
of University Women.
She leaves her children,
David Winsen, Janet
Williams, and Julia Carson;
grandchildren, Genoveva
Winsen and Samuel Carson;
sister, Carol Bernstein;
nephews, John and Michael
Bernstein; their partners,
former partners and other
loved family members.

OBITUARY
CHARGES

The processing fee for
