In moving on to a new
approach to art, Abrahamson
had to learn how to use some
different tools and materials so
he could represent his take on
various environmental aspects
that surrounded him.
Abrahamson, 64, recalls
how he enjoyed watching his
father at work and then help-
ing him at the fairs.
“Back in the 1970s, I used to
help my dad carry big wooden
statues,
” said Abrahamson, an
all-American gymnast in col-
lege. “
As he was selling them,
he was reviewed by an art crit-

The current multimedia
artist, who also sells work
through online galleries and
his website (davidafineart.

pieces to the fairs and spends
freed-up time reading all kinds
of books with diverse subjects
that have caught his attention.
“I like meeting all the people
at the fairs and getting their
reactions to my art,
” he said.
“Some of the reactions I get
are really amazing. Some of
the people compare me to
world-famous artists. Some
are really struck by the feelings
they get by looking at my art.
“Sometimes they don’t like
abstract art generally, but they
tell me they like what I do.
This season and last, I’ve been
leaning more toward neutral
colors. Sometimes people like
to have things that go with
furniture so I can still create
what I want to create and give
them what they want, too.
