e’ve had enough”
are the only three
words anticipat-
ed to be spoken by Jaden
Kellman in the upcoming
musical comedy production of
Guys and Dolls, but he sings
and dances a lot as part of the
ensemble chosen by the Nicely
Theatre Group, a professional,
not-for-profit initiative.
Also in his responsibilities
with the show are chance
involvements at any time
when the actor portraying
Guy Masterson (Patrick Lane)
might miss a performance.
Those times fall between
July 13 and 21 at the Berman
Center for the Performing
Arts in West Bloomfield.
The show is a welcomed
summer activity for Kellman,
who this fall will be a senior
in the performing arts pro-
gram at Western Michigan
University in Kalamazoo. He
plans a move to New York
after graduation so that he can
showcase his skills.
Kellman thoroughly enjoys
being part of the love story by
Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows
with music by Frank Loesser.
The storyline involves sea-
soned gamblers, a young and
pretty missionary and a bet
that has the cast presenting
the songs that have held favor
for decades.
“It’s a really nice experi-
ence to learn an ensemble
part while making sure I’m
prepared just in case I have
to go on for one of the leads
in the show,” Kellman said.
“Having just three words gives
me more time to practice the
actual movements for the
show so I can get those down
and perfected.
“I like how fun this show is.
It’s not dire or serious where
