Expands to
West Bloomfield

A

s the Bloomfield Hills
business was ready to
expand, Jewish-owned
custom framing and art gallery
ART + FRAME considered several
locations for its second storefront.
Owners Brad and Danielle
Gordon first looked at Capitol Park
in Detroit, then Ferndale. Finally,
they discovered the perfect location
to expand the business in West
Bloomfield.
A storefront in Crosswinds
Mall on Orchard Lake Road had
sat empty since 2019. For the
Gordons, who purchased the orig-
inal Bloomfield Hills storefront in
2018 from its previous owners, the
promising West Bloomfield loca-
tion couldn’t be more ideal.
The plaza was also home to
co-tenants that included a postal
business where framed art could be
mailed, as well as a children’s craft
studio that gave kids and their fam-
ilies the opportunity to stop at ART
+ FRAME to frame their prized
creations.
“It’s a desirable area, but it’s still
an underserved market,
” Brad
Gordon, 35, of Farmington Hills,
explains. The West Bloomfield
space originally housed the
Danielle Peleg Art Gallery, mak-
ing its new shot at life as ART +
FRAME come full-circle.
Given the former use of the
space, Gordon anticipates a need
for framing in the area.
“There’s starting to be fewer and
fewer art framing shops,
” he says.
“I wanted to make sure that this is
a craft that not only stays alive, but
that people continue to take care of
their artwork and their heirlooms.
”

A PERSONAL TOUCH
While consumers can easily go to
Michaels or other big-box retailers
for framing needs, Gordon says the
personal touch is lost when choos-
ing frames that are mass produced.
“There’s a different level of
expertise in our shops that people
tend to trust and like,
” he says of
the combined total of 50 years’
experience amongst the ART +
FRAME team. “I’ve always equated
