JACOBSON, 81, 
of West 
Bloomfield, died 
June 28, 2024.
He is survived 
by his beloved wife, Sarah 

Jacobson; daughters and son-
in-law, Lindsay Jacobson, 
Tami and Gregg Schultz; 
grandchildren, Maddie 
Schultz, Jack Schultz; grand-
dog Stanley Jacobson; devot-
ed sister-in-law, Libby (Art) 
White; nieces, Nicole, Ashley, 
Kalley and Mackenzie. 
He was the great-uncle 
of Willow, Rowen, Carter 
and Griffin, Marianna and 
Juliana, Joslynn and Jimari. 
Howard was the dear 
son of the late Maurice and 
Bernice (Sherman) Jacobson; 
brother of the late Richard 
Jacobson (the late Carol); 
son-in-law of the late Lee 
and Melvin VanDuren. 
Interment was held at Beth 
El Memorial Park Cemetery 
in Livonia. Contributions 
may be made to the Masons- 
Livonia United 152, or to the 
Meals on Wheels program at 
National Council of Jewish

MARSHALL F. 
KELTZ, 84, of 
Niles, Ill., peace-
fully passed away 
with his children 
by his side on June 
17, 2024, after a brief battle 
with cancer. 
Born in Detroit on Nov. 
1, 1939, to Archie and Anne 
(Weiner) Keltz, he became a 
1957 Mumford High School, 
1961 University of Michigan, 
1964 Wayne State University 
Law School, and 1988 Kendall 
College Culinary Arts graduate. 
He married Joanne 
Hoffman (1961-93) and resid-
ed in Oak Park. In 1972, he 
moved to Houghton, Mich., 
to practice law and open The 
Shirt Stop. Marshall served 
on the Houghton Portage 
Township School Board, was 

president of Temple Jacob in 
Hancock and an adviser for 
Michigan Tech University fra-
ternities, among many com-
munity activities. 
In 1986, he moved to 
Chicago to pursue a career in 
culinary arts. Marshall was 
always an avid reader, traveler, 
volunteer, social activist and 
patron of the arts. 
He is survived by his children, 
Ira (Lynn) Keltz of Laconia, 
N.H., Amy (Jeffrey) Cardella 
of Niles, Ill.; grandchildren, 
Jonathan Brody, Archie Keltz, 
Alison and Michael Cardella; 
former wife, Joanne Hoffman 
Keltz Simon of Portage, Mich.; 
nephews and nieces. 
Mr. Keltz was preceded in 
death by his sister, Charlotte 
(Marvin) Rosenberg; and 
partners, Norman Cutler and 
William Drewry.
