English literature led him to
Brandeis University, where he
taught from1961–1968.
Then he began his 30-year
career at the University
of Michigan. Upon his
retirement in 2000, he was
named Professor Emeritus
of English Language and
Literature and Professor
Emeritus of Film and Video
Studies.
Mr. Konigsberg leaves
behind his partner of 17
years, Martha “Mickey” Price.
Ira’s greatest love was
spending time with his
children, Anna Konigsberg,
Peter (Sara) Konigsberg
and Sasha (Isabel) Bagchi;
honorary children, David
(Shamean) Price and Raina
Price; his grandchildren,

Jeffrey (Emily) Hegarty,
Tre’ Brown, Sam (Kendra)
Konigsberg, Jane Konigsberg,
and Eva Bagchi; his great-
grandchildren, Leon and
Saoirse Hegarty. Ira also
leaves brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, nieces and
nephews, and many beloved
friends.
He was preceded in death
by his second wife, Nancy
Hillary Konigsberg; sister,
Rita Katcher; parents, Mary
and Sidney King.
Interment was at
Arborcrest Cemetery in
Ann Arbor. Contributions
may be made to the Primary
Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)
Research Fund, pscpartners.

ANITA
LAMPCOV, 85,
of West
Bloomfield, died
June 14, 2024.
She created a
beautiful life and met every
challenge with grace and a
positive attitude. She was
a true bubbie, who never
let anyone leave her house
hungry. Her legacy is not just
in memories she created but
in the lives she touched.
Mrs. Lampcov is survived
by her children, Elyse
and Steven Fine of West
Bloomfield, Nancy and
Leonard Zucker of West
Bloomfield, Gayle Taub
of West Bloomfield, Dale
Taub of West Bloomfield,
Ronna and Brian Alexander

of Douglas, Mich., Marc
Lampcov and Olga
Onishchenko of Lake, Mich.;
grandchildren, Marlee,
Noah and Elizabeth, Sammi,
Eli and Will, Ari, Hannah,
Regina, Ben, Leah, Lucy,
Ehren, Olive; brother-in-
law and sister-in-law, Stuart
Spilkevitz and Patty Itskovitz;
many nieces, nephews and a
world of amazing friends.
Anita was the beloved wife
of the late Jacob Lampcov;
dear sister of the late Irwin
Itskovitz, the late Geri
Spilkevitz.
