Handler of 
Bloomfield Hills will 
turn 90 years old on June 
17, 2024. A lifelong Michigan 
Wolverine and legendary Dean 
of the Bankruptcy Bar, Wally 
will celebrate at the Detroit 
Athletic Club with his beloved 
wife of 67 years, Marlene, and 
children, Missy, Howard and 
Meg, as well as daughter-in-
law, Wendy, and son-in-law, 
Rick Draheim. Grandchildren Rian Handler Ephraim and 
her husband, Dr Adam J Ephraim, of Hanover, Mass., 
Eli Handler of Brooklyn, N..Y, and great-grandson, Gus 
Ephraim, will be there in spirit.

Hills. Proud parents are 
Ashley and Jimmy 
Grubbs. Brodie is the 
brother of Hannah, Chase 
and Grayson Grubbs. He 
is the grandson of Neal 
Kahn and the late Susan, 
Gwen Grubbs and the late 
David.
Brodie is a student at 
West Bloomfield Middle 
School.

Mordechai, son

to the Torah as a bar 
mitzvah at Temple Israel 
in West Bloomfield on 
Saturday, June 15, 2024. 
He will be joined in 
celebration by his brother 
Shimon. Ephraim is the 
loving grandchild of Ida 
and Abram Shamailov. 
He is a student at 
West Bloomfield Middle 
School. Ephraim’s most 
meaningful mitzvah 
project was volunteering 
for Lighthouse in Pontiac, 
where he raised money, 
coordinated shopping lists 
and donated food to help 
local families in need.
