Scott Cohon has been awarded “The Order of the Lion,” the highest honor to be presented to an alumnus of Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi), the world’s leading Jewish college fraternity. The award was voted on by representatives of each of the fraternity’s nearly 150 chapters and other volunteer alumni at the Fraternity’s 110th annual convention and was presented earlier this month at a dinner in Boca Raton, Fla. The Order of the Lion is presented to an AEPi alumnus for service to the fraternity over a long span of years, above and beyond the call of duty. Of the more than 120,000 men who have been initiated into AEPi, only 62 have received this honor. Cohon, a 1991 graduate of Wayne State University, worked for AEPi for eight years following graduation, serving the fraternity as a chapter consultant and director of risk management. Since then, Cohon has been an active volunteer and has served on the International Board of Directors for 20 years. “Scott is an outstanding example of the values of our fraternity and dedication to our mission of developing leadership for the Jewish community,” said Rob Derdiger, AEPi’s CEO. “Presenting him with the Order of the Lion is a fitting tribute to his tireless commitment to our fraternity and our community.” A native of Southfield, Michigan, Cohon now resides in Boca Raton, with his wife, Annat, and his two children Marc and Shayna. He is a congregant at B’nai Israel in Boca Raton. Scott Cohon receives AEPi’s highest honor from Scott Knapp, AEPi’s International president.
