project raising money for 
Happy Paws Haven Co., a 
Metro Detroit foster-based, 
no-kill animal rescue. 

Taitym Pearl 
Eisenberg, 
daughter of

Eisenberg, will be called to 
the Torah at Temple Israel 
in West Bloomfield as a 
bat mitzvah on Saturday, 
May 18, 2024. She will be 
joined in celebration by 
her siblings, Jordan, Kaylie 
and Ashtyn Eisenberg, 
Danielle, Joshua and 
Fallan Sherman, and 
Chase Yarber. Taitym is the 
loving grandchild of Paula 
and Keith Bjertness, and 
Frances and Kenneth 
Eisenberg. 
She is a student at 
Cranbrook Kingswood 
Middle School in 

Bloomfield Hills. Taitym’s 
most meaningful mitzvah 
project was volunteering 
her time with Friendship 
Circle in West Bloomfield.

He is a student at Norup 
International School 
in Oak Park. Cooper’s 
most meaningful mitzvah 
project was launching 
his own Sneaks4Peace 
fundraiser, selling sneaker 
keychains he made on 
his 3D printer to raise 
money for the Jewish 
Federation of Detroit’s 
Israeli Camper Program: 
a program welcoming 
Israeli campers from the 
Partnership2Gether region 
to Camp Tamarack for the 
summer. 

Raquel Kai 
Rafie, daughter 
of Randi and Dr. 
Ramin Rafie, will 
lead the 
congregation in 
prayer as she becomes a 
bat mitzvah at Temple 
Israel in West Bloomfield 
on Saturday, May 18, 2024. 

She will be joined in 
celebration by her brother 
Riley. Raquel is the loving 
grandchild of Fern and the 
late Robert Wallach, and 
Maliheh and the late 
Moussa Rafie. 
She is a student at 
Berkshire Middle School 
in Beverly Hills. Raquel’s 
most meaningful mitzvah 

project was returning 
bottles and cans to 
raise money, which she 
donated to the Michael 
J. Fox Foundation and 
the National Foundation 
for Infectious Diseases 
in memory of her 
grandfathers.

Mazel Tov! announcements are welcomed for members of the 
Jewish community. Anniversaries, engagements and weddings 
with a photo (preferably color) can appear at a cost of $18 each. 
Births are $10. There is no charge for bar/bat mitzvahs or for 
special birthdays starting at the 90th.

Zaslow-Goldstein

herry Margolis-Zaslow 
is thrilled to announce 
the engagement of her 
daughter Alexandra Zaslow to 
Zachary Goldstein, son of Amy 
Goldstein and the late Howard 
Goldstein of Bellmore, N.Y. 
Alexandra is also the daughter 
of the late Jeffrey Zaslow. 
Alexandra is an award-
winning podcast producer in 
New York City. She graduated 
from Indiana University and 
received a bachelor of arts degree from the Ernie Pyle 
School of Journalism. 
Zachary is regional vice president of Enterprise 
Sales for Twilio. He graduated from the University of 
Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor of business 
administration degree from the Isenberg School of 
Management. 
The couple reside in New York City and will be getting 
married in Michigan this spring. Rabbi Aaron Starr will 
officiate.
