hen Lawrence
“Larry” Traison
was in his early
20s, his father, Samuel
Traison, who managed their
family-run printing business
Walker Printery, passed away
in 1957.
Larry Traison, now 90, was
faced with the unimaginable

building block of the person

leader he would soon
become.

to work at Walker Printery

his son, Steven Traison, who
serves as vice president.
Retirement was never an

who, despite having gone
through five bouts of cancer,
refuses to stop working at
the family-operated business
the Traisons worked so hard

to sustain.
From its original location
on Grand River and Cass,
to its later iterations that
included Grand River and
Brooklyn, then Six Mile and
Southfield, Walker Printery
continued to evolve.
Now, the hard work has
paid off, as Walker Printery
celebrates 100 years of
operation.
