Eddie was born in Detroit 
on Oct. 6, 1955, and grew 
up in Livonia. He attended 
Clarenceville High School 
and graduated from Michigan 
State University in 1979. He 
remained an avid Spartan fan 
his entire life.
Eddie was outgoing, and he 
made friends easily with his 
zest for life and comfortable 
sense of humor. He loved music 
as well as playing and watching 
sports. A gifted bowler, Eddie 
bowled a perfect game of 300 
in 2005 and participated in 30 
consecutive national tourna-
ments. He loved to go deep-sea 
fishing in Cancun, and he 
and Lynne walked Michigan’s 
Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day 
more than 15 times. 
Eddie was married to his 

beloved wife, Lynne Wallace 
Grant, for 42 years. He was a 
devoted brother to Carolyn 
and Greg Normandin, Dr. Don 
and Felicia Grant, Aaron and 
Dorothee Grant, Dr. Eva and 
Chris Granthein, and the late 
David Grant. He was the dear 
“Unc” of Danny and Jessica 
Normandin, Josh Normandin, 
Rachel and Morgan Cecilio, 
Sydney Grant, Isobel Grant, 
Emmy and Clara Grant, Lilly 
and Ellie Granthein. He was 
great-uncle to Olivia and 
Arielle Normandin. 
Eddie was the son of the late 
Ernest Grant and Phyllis Grant 
Monroe; and the son-in-law 
of Carolyn and the late Gerald 
Wallace.
