collecting antiques, a good
cigar and a rum punch. He and
Marcia traveled the world, but
his favorite place will always be
the family cottage at Higgins
Lake.
A memorial service will
be planned in Michigan this
summer at the Congregation
for Humanistic Judaism
of Metro Detroit, formerly
the Birmingham Temple.

SUSAN MILLER
HOPPS, 73, of Oak
Park, died May 15,
2024.
Susie was a
loving light in the
world.
She is survived by her daugh-
ter, Kimberly Zager; grand-

children, Ray, David, Ben and
Sophie; sisters and brothers-in-
law, Joan and Paul Feldman, Jay
and Sue Miller, and Joe Erlich;
loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hopps was the mother
of the late Stacy Wiatrak; sister
of the late Linda Erlich.
A memorial service will
be held on May 5, 2024,
at 3 p.m. at the Feldmans’
home, 32097 Olde Franklin
Drive, Farmington Hills.
Contributions may be made
to Jewish Family Life, which
helped her so much.

RUTH LAX, 98, of
Birmingham, died
April 11, 2024.
She is survived
by her daughters
and sons-in-law,
Sherry and Danny Stewart,
Ellen and Marc Whitefield,
and Geraldine Erman and
Paul Perilli; son, David Erman;

grandchildren, Marc Stewart,
Brian and Rachel Stewart,
Lauren and Jonathan Sterling,
and Johannah and Sam Schiffer;
great-grandchildren, Olivia and
Emma Stewart, Jonah and Max
Sterling, and Dahlia and Jack
Schiffer.
Mrs. Lax was the dear sister
of the late Joan and the late
Norman Shapiro.
Interment was at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park.

NAGLER, 84, of

He is survived

Rachelle and Dan Hayman;
sons, Michael Nagler and
Ryan Denes; grandchildren,
Elliot, Leah (Levi), Sam (Jace),
Jacqueline (Ezra), Mendel,
Levy, Chana, Avrohom,
Estherita, Moshe Dovid and
Autym; great-grandchildren,
Owl, Asher and Francella;
sister and brother-in-law,
Barbara and Gene Wasylenki;
brother, Eric Nagler. He was
the brother-in-law of Frances
(Bruce) Lamb, Andy (Kathy)
Labowitch, Bernie Labowitch.
He is also survived by many
other loving family members
and friends.
Mr. Nagler was the broth-
er-in-law of the late Bob
Labowitch.
