context as we share the 
Jewish narrative of the 
Beatles in this two-part con-
cert event. Intermixed within 
the stories, Soulfarm will lend 
their music stylings and play 
some of your favorite Beatles 
tunes. Part two of the evening 
is centered around Soulfarm’s 
original music celebrating 
their own storied career.

of soup and some bread. All 
proceeds from this event will 
be donated to a local soup 
kitchen. All food for that day 
will be homemade soup 
prepared by the Shir Tikvah 
community and served for $5 
a bowl. Any additional dona-

Duke Ellington’s “Sacred 
Concert” at Hartford 
Memorial Church in Detroit,

Freeway. This treasure is 
presented in collaboration 
with Wayne State University 

Department of Music and fea-
tures soaring choral music, 
big band sounds and the 
energy of tap dance. The 
concert program will be con-
ducted by Brandon Waddles, 
Rackham’s artistic director 
and assistant professor in 
Teaching, Choral Conducting 
and Music Education at 
Wayne State University. In 
addition to Rackham Choir, 
the performance features the 
Wayne State University Big 
Band and University Choirs 
and the “Too Hot Trio” of 
Marion Hayden, bass, Dave 
Taylor, percussion, and Alvin 
Waddles, piano. Tickets 
are $20 for adults, $15 for
