ver 500 people joined the Royal Oak
Chabad Jewish Center for its annual
Purim celebration, this year’s theme
being “Purim in Israel.
” The event took place
March 24 at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.
Guests had the opportunity to “travel through”
various locations with corresponding activities
in Israel, including a petting farm at a kibbutz,
art corner in Tzfat, fresh juice squeezing in Jaffa,
photo booth at the Western Wall, wine tasting
at the Galil and a big “Tel Aviv shuk,
” where
they got kosher and fresh shawarma and falafel,
babka, seven species of Israel and much more.
They also had the opportunity to hear the
story of Purim from the Megillah with a special
show from Elsa as well as do other mitzvot of
Purim. Many had the opportunity to put on
tefillin by the “Kotel.

“This year, the story of Purim and the mes-
sage of standing together with our connection
to God and our heritage was very clear to all of
us,
” says Rabbi Moishie Glitsenstein, director of
Royal Oak Chabad Jewish Center. “We’re glad
that with the support of the community, we’re
able to bring our community together and to
give them strength in this difficult time “
This is one of many programs and events
provided for the community by the Royal Oak
Chabad Jewish Center, which makes Jewish life
accessible, meaningful and enjoyable to thou-
sands in the heart of the Woodward corridor
— and always provides creative and fun ways to
bring the community together.
