epair the World Detroit PeerCorps Teens had a mean-
ingful Elu V’ Elu, a learning session where they talked
about racial justice at the intersection of food security
through the lens and value of Kavod Habriyot, preciousness of
each human.
The event took place at Yad Ezra, the Jewish food pantry.
After the learning session, attendees “turned skills into ser-
vice” by finding out how to make body butter to be distributed
to neighbors in Detroit to protect their skin from the harsh
weather. They also packed 400 tea bags and 200 tea kits for Yad
Ezra, to be distributed in the pantry.
Attendees toured Yad Ezra’s “Giving Gardens” greenhouse
and are excited to return to support a food distribution pro-
gram closer to Passover.
