New U-M Hillel CEO
Is Announced
Rabbi Davey Rosen
will begin his role
as the CEO of
Michigan Hillel
effective immediate-
ly, following a com-
prehensive national
search, according
to Abbey Frank, chair, Michigan
Hillel Board of Trustees, who
issued an email welcoming Rabbi
Rosen.
“Davey’s profound knowledge of
Judaism, enthusiasm for mentoring
students and staff, and previous
experience advocating for Jewish
students’ needs on campus was also
highly recognized,
” she wrote.
Rabbi Rosen has served as the
interim CEO since November and
as associate director from 2011 to
2018. He has relationships with
many university administrators
and experience in crisis man-
agement. He received Rabbinic
ordination from the Academy for
Jewish Religion and holds a mas-
ter’s in education from the Jewish
Theological Seminary. Outside of
his professional life, Davey, with
his wife, Jillian, is the proud parent
of three future Wolverines and a
skilled guitar player.
“I am thrilled to welcome Davey
back to Michigan Hillel as our
next CEO and look forward to
seeing him take our Hillel to an
even higher level of excellence,
” she
wrote.
In an email to the Hillel com-
munity, Rabbi Rosen wrote, “My
vision is that every Jewish student
at Michigan cultivates an obliga-
tion to the Jewish people. As we
approach Purim — a holiday that
reminds us of both the dangers
of antisemitism and the enduring
power of Jewish resilience — this
commitment to the Jewish com-
munity is even more vital. Hillel
will continue to confront antisem-
itism and anti-Israel incidents
head-on.”
