high-rise office building 
in Southfield, Michigan, 
called The Travelers Tower 
and was also co-developer 
of the first high-rise 
office building in Troy, 
Michigan, called The Top 
of Troy. Fred was also a 
co-founder of the Balcor 
Company, which became 
one of the largest real estate 
syndication companies in 
the U.S. 
In recent years, his focus 
was property tax abatement, 
which he did until his 
passing. Fred’s passions 
included first and foremost 
his family, golf, University 
of Michigan sports and his 
love for helping people. 
Mr. Gordon is survived 
by his wife of 65 years, 
Marsha Gordon; daughter 
and son-in-law, Minde and 
Robert Korman; son and 
daughter-in-law, Stephen 
and Debbie Gordon; 
grandchildren, Joey 
Korman, Rachel Gordon, 
Matthew Korman, Max 
Gordon, and Eli Gordon; 
nephews and nieces, Isaac 
and Oliver Ellenson, Joni 
Wells, Todd Gordon, 
and Ambre and Michael 
Friedman; brother and 
sister-in-law, Miles and Jan 
Gordon. He is also survived 
by his special caregiver, 
Geraldine Berry, his 
lifelong executive assistant, 
Donna O’Brien, and many 
loving family, friends and 
colleagues. 
Mr. Gordon was the 
loving brother of the late 
Sheldon Gordon, and the 
devoted son of the late 
Joseph and the late Mary 
Gordon. 
Interment was at Clover 
Hill Park Cemetery.
