He will be joined in 
celebration by his sister, 
Madison. Jacob is the 
loving grandchild of 
Barbara and Allan Ben, 
and Marilyn and Michael 
Rice. 
He is a student at 
Walnut Creek Middle 
School in West Bloomfield. 
Jacob’s most meaningful 
mitzvah project was 
starting a book drive for 
Making Spirits Bright, 
an organization that 
collects and distributes 
gently used books to 
communities in need.

Ella Sophie 
Davis (Israela 
Shoshana) of 
Birmingham will 
become a bat 
mitzvah at Adat 
Shalom Synagogue in 
Farmington Hills on 
Saturday, March 9, 2024. 
She is the daughter of 
Jodie Kaufman Davis and 
Jamie Davis, and sister of 
Maddie and Jona. Her 
grandparents are Sue and 
Alan Kaufman, and Lynda 
and Ken Davis.
Ella attends Hillel Day 
School of Metropolitan 
Detroit in Farmington 
Hills. As a meaningful 
mitzvah project, she has 
been working with Camp 
Tamarack to support 
displaced Israeli youths.

Bennie 
Remner, son of 
Gayle and 
Justin Remner, 
will be called to 
the Torah as a 
bar mitzvah at Temple 
Israel in West Bloomfield 
on Saturday, March 9, 
2024. He will be joined in 
celebration by his sister, 
Ariana. Bennie is the 
loving grandchild of Ellen 
Dorshow-Gordon and 
Charles Gordon, and 
Leslie and George 
Remner. 
He is a student at 
Clifford H. Smart Middle 
School in Commerce 
Township. Bennie’s 
most meaningful 
mitzvah project was 
volunteering his time 
at a JARC home and 
raising money to donate 
to those individuals with 
developmental disabilities 
of all ages in Oakland 
County.

a bar mitzvah at Temple

on Saturday, March 9, 
2024. Max is the loving 
grandchild of Margo and 
Michael Stocker, and 
Marge and Fred Mann. 
He is a student at Norup 
International School in 
Oak Park. Max’s most 
meaningful mitzvah 
project was making 
blankets for the children 
at Camp Joy Outdoor

en and Janet Korn are celebrating 70 years of 
wedded bliss on March 7, 2024. Their loving 
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren 
are hosting a special dinner to honor them.

and a place where Max 
received a blanket when 
he was a camper.

He is the son of Marla 
and Brian Young, and 
brother of Levi and 
Sammy. His grandparents 
are Susan and Howard 
Tapper, the late Ava 
Young, Charles Young 
and Debra Carson.
Ari is a student at 
Hillel Day School in 
Farmington Hills. His 
mitzvah projects were 
working as a volunteer at 
Yad Ezra in Berkley and 
fundraising.
