DOG OF THE WEEK

Morgan!

Meet

Snuggles
Wanted!

M

organ is a 5-pound 6-year-old Chihuahua —
a friendly and sweet boy. This little bundle
of love is ready for his next big adventure.
He’s a bit timid at first but such a ham once he learns
you’re his person.
He is current on shots and very treat-motivated.
When he gets a nibble after coming in from going
potty, he has the cutest celebratory dance! He is also
a snuggle napper and just wants to sit on your lap and
be loved.
Morgan is still unsure about being approached, but
he is warming up. He also enjoys a good bone to eat.

SPOTLIGHT

Traverse City Chabad Raising
Money for Building

“
As the day we will, God- will-
ing, be closing on the build-
ing for the Chabad Jewish
Community Center of Traverse
City approaches, our building
campaign is in full swing,
” said
director Rabbi Laibel Shemtov.
“We have until March 1 to raise
the last $180,000 and, as of now,
32% of that is covered. We are
amazed by the incredible support
pouring in.
”
He said the Chabad JCC will
be a warm space for people from
all walks of life to feel welcome
and at home, and to connect
to their Judaism. It will have
a Jewish library, Judaica shop,
social hall, synagogue, class-
rooms, and much more.
“Every Jew should know that
they have a home away from
home here in Traverse City. We
look forward to having families

from Detroit visit the Chabad
JCC!” Rabbi Shemtov said.
Anyone can dedicate a brick
and have their name on the
building — and forever be
remembered as a founder of the
center.
 “Every donation makes an
impact, no matter the amount,
and together we can build a
strong Jewish future here in
Traverse City,
” Rabbi Shemtov
said.

With more than 5 million direct
care workers supporting older
adults and people with disabil-
ities in the U.S., they are the
largest workforce in the country.
However, since the pandemic, the
need to fill positions in the indus-
try remains high.
 JARC, a Metro Detroit non-
profit serving adults with devel-
opmental disabilities, will hold a
direct care job fair from Monday,
Feb. 26 to Thursday, Feb. 29 for
open positions providing direct

disabilities in several JARC loca-
tions throughout Oakland County.

JARC offers a competitive full
benefits package, paid time off,
a retirement plan, several bonus
opportunities, employee assistance
programs and access to several
other financial resources.
The JARC Direct Care Job
Fair occurs during the week

leading up to National Caregiver
Appreciation Day on Sunday,
March 3, which honors, appreci-
ates and thanks the caregivers who
give their time and effort to care
for those in need, such as for those
people living with disabilities, ill-
nesses, and the elderly.
The hiring event is an opportu-
nity to apply for a position, learn
more about the benefits of the
job, and meet several key people
at JARC as it will take place at
JARC’s Bloomfield Township
headquarters in the Max M.
Fisher Federation Building, 6735
Telegraph Road, Suite 100.
JARC’s Direct Care Job Fair
event will run from 9 a.m. to 5
